Event Description

Join the PGCPS Department of Capital Programs for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new William Wirt Middle School.

This milestone marks the delivery of a new, state-of-the-art, 168,500-square-foot school designed to serve 1,200 students. The three-story facility features grade-level learning neighborhoods with collaborative spaces, a light-filled cafeteria with a performance stage, a gymnasium, wellness and fitness facilities, music and dance spaces, a media center, STEM and art learning areas, outdoor terraces, and dedicated community-use space.

The completed campus also includes athletic amenities for baseball, softball, soccer, and futsal; an outdoor classroom with amphitheater-style seating; a lighted walking trail; improved site access; and separate bus and passenger vehicle drop-off areas.

Join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone for Prince George’s County Public Schools and the William Wirt community.
